Our Week Ahead

I am really excited to get this week started.  We are about to adventure into our Fall/Autumn inquiries.  We will be looking closely at how our environment changes as we move into fall.  We will investigate leaves, pumpkins, gourds, corn, colour and animals that gather for the winter.  Of course, depending on what 'wonders' we have about our world, there is potential for us to head in a slightly different direction.

Here is a quick overview of our week:

Tuesday (14th):

  • music
  • patterns - final activities to communicate our understanding of patterns & pattern core
  • focusing on the sound and letter formation of 'S'
  • field trip notice going home

Wednesday (15th): Popcorn & Licorice day

  • gym (cooperative games)
  • building numbers using tens frames
  • practicing words that begin with 'S' 's'
  • reading assessments
Meet the Creature Teacher 5:30-7pm

Thursday (16th): Library - Ms. Baisi will dismiss our class

  • building numbers using tens frames
  • writing - giving important nouns capital letters
  • reading assessments
  • Earthquake drill

Friday (17th):  Music - Ms. Ibbotson will bring our class over to the covered area after the bell

  • pancake breakfast before school
  • focusing on the sound and letter formation of 'F' 'f'
  • tens frames flash - recognizing numbers without using our fingers to count
