Here is a preview of our week ahead.
General reminder: If you haven't done so already, please send a pair of inside shoes and an extra set of clothes. If you place the clothes in a large ziploc bag, please label with your child's name and I will find a safe place to store the extra items. The weather is changing!
Monday: A Souper notice from our awesome PAC went home today. I have a few that were left behind, so if you didn't see one in your child's planner there will be extras at the office or in the notice folder outside our classroom door.
There are a few children that I was not able to read with today, so I will be checking their Tool Sounds and Sight words tomorrow. Great work on our reading practice so far!
Tuesday: We have music and gym today. If you haven't had a chance to send inside shoes, please make sure that your child wears shoes that appropriate for running around. We are starting a new unit on Volleyball. We will practice passing and catching and eventually hitting a soft volleyball to our partners.
Wednesday: Family Read (8:30 -9:00) - siblings are welcome. Families that have other children in Ms. Leech's or Ms. Sarchet's class, are welcome to read as a group, however please come to class first for attendance and to pick up our book bins before reading begins. Popcorn day.
We will continue with our Fall inquiries today, deepening our understanding on the seasonal changes that fall brings. We have had some initial discussions about chlorophyll and how leaves change their colour. As your child what a tree makes and 'eats'? They were fascinated with the answer. : )
Thursday: This is our library day, please send library books to school today.
Friday: Professional development day - No school
